Mackenzie Dern vs. Amanda Cooper In the Works for UFC 224 in Brazil
It didn’t take long for highly touted prospect Mackenzie Dern to book her second fight as she’s expected to return at UFC 224 against Amanda Cooper on May 12 in Brazil.
Sources close to the matchup confirmed the news on Wednesday following an initial report from MMABrasil.com.
Dern just made her debut at UFC 222 in March where she edged out a split decision victory over Ashley Yoder as the submission specialist got the job done over three rounds.
Dern is now 6-0 in her career and after she requested to compete in Brazil for her next fight, her wish is being granted.
As for Cooper, she is an alum of “The Ultimate Fighter” season 23 where she made it to the finals but came up short against Tatiana Suarez. Most recently, Cooper dispatched Angela Magana by second round TKO as she moved her UFC record to 2-2 overall.
Now Cooper is expected to face Dern in a showdown at 115-pounds at UFC 224, scheduled for May 12 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil with the women’s bantamweight title fight between Amanda Nunes vs. Raquel Pennington as the main event.
