Lyoto Machida Takes On Hot Prospect Eryk Anders At UFC Belem
Lyoto Machida will return to the UFC Octagon on Feb. 3 when he takes on Eryk Anders in the main event of UFC Fight Night Belem.
The news was first reported by @MMAWizard of MMAToday.
Machida (22-8), is a former UFC light heavyweight champion, but has not registered a win since Dec. 2104 when he defeated C.B. Dollaway. The Brazilian has lost four of his last five fights and was recently banned by USADA for 18 months following a positive test for the banned substance, 7-Keto-DHEA. Machida returned to the UFC Octagon following his ban at Oct. 28 when he faced Derek Brunson at UFC Fight Night 119. Things didn’t go to plan for Machida and he lost via knockout after just two minutes and 30-seconds of the first round.
Suffice to say, Machida desperately needs a win, but in his way will be Anders (10-0) who is a man on the rise. The American was the first ever middleweight champion of LFA and has looked nothing but impressive so far during his two fight UFC stint that includes wins over Rafael Natal and Markus Perez.
