Luke Sanders vs Patrick Williams In The Works For UFC Glendale
UFC Glendale takes place April 14 and it appears that another bout will soon be added.
Sources close to Damon Martin and Jim Edwards at MMANytt.com have revealed that a bantamweight clash between Luke Sanders and Patrick Williams is in the works for the UFC Fight Night card set to take place at the Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona.
Sanders (11-2) will attempt to bounce back from consecutive losses to Iuri Alcântara and Andre Soukhamthath. The 32-year-old debuted in the UFC back in Jan. 2016 when he defeated Maximo Blanco at UFC Fight Night 81, but he has since struggled with the aforementioned losses and two fight cancellations with both Bryan Caraway and Felipe Arantes pulling out of scheduled bouts in 2017. Sanders will now look to get back to winning ways in Arizona, but in his way will be Williams who will also be looking to get back in the win column.
Williams (8-5) last fought back in April 2017 when he was defeated by hot prospect Tom Duquesnoy at UFC on Fox 24. Prior to that fight, Williams had spent a lengthy period on the sidelines recovering from injuries and has been out of action since June 2015 when he defeated Alejandro Perez. With a 1-2 record in the UFC, Williams will now look to claw his record back to .500 and get himself in the thick of it at 135-pounds.
UFC Glendale will be headlined by a lightweight bout pitting Dustin Poirier against Justin Gaethje.
