Luke Rockhold Slams Sean Strickland’s ‘Brutal’ Training Tactics
Former middleweight champion Luke Rockhold has openly criticized Sean Strickland for his extreme training methods, describing him as reckless and overly aggressive. Rockhold, known for his straightforwardness, expressed his displeasure over Strickland’s behavior during a training session at the RVCA gym in California. He recounted an incident where Strickland, notorious for his harsh sparring style, aggressively targeted a fellow trainee, leading to injury.
Rockhold’s experience with Strickland was far from pleasant. He narrated how Strickland, without any consideration, continued to press on even after causing harm. This attitude, according to Rockhold, is typical of Strickland, who has previously boasted about the intensity of his training sessions. In contrast, Khamzat Chimaev‘s visit to Strickland’s home gym, Xtreme Couture, showcased a different side of Strickland, where he urged Chimaev to ease up on his sparring partners. Despite his initial negative impression, Rockhold remains open to training with Strickland again, acknowledging his skill and uniqueness as a fighter.
