[LISTEN]: UFC 220 Conference Call with Stipe Miocic, Francis Ngannou, Daniel Cormier and Volkan Oezdemir

Get ready for UFC 220 with the official media conference call

Before they step into the Octagon next weekend, the main and co-main event fighters from UFC 220 sparred on the media conference call ahead of the event.

UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic will look to break the all time record for title defenses in his division next weekend but he faces a daunting task in knockout artist Francis Ngannou.

Ngannou was ultra confident during the conference call on Thursday, promising to finish Miocic inside two rounds once they faced off next weekend.

“I don’t see myself going third round, fourth round,” Ngannou said. “No, I’m not going to do that. I’m just going to finish Stipe in under two rounds.”

In the co-main event, Daniel Cormier will look to put the saga with Jon Jones behind him as he takes on ferocious finisher Volkan Oezdemir, who enters the fight after earning two straight first round knockouts.

Of course, Cormier would be hard pressed to escape questions about his rivalry with Jones but he says he’s putting the former champion out of his mind because his focus has to stay solely on Oezdemir.

“I don’t really worry too much about anything but the person that’s in front of me,” Cormier explained. “Volkan Oezdemir, I respect enough to focus on him entirely. I respect enough to focus entirely on him and him be my obsession. I’m obsessed with this young man right now. Obsessed with coming up with a game plan and a fight strategy to go out there and beat him convincingly.”

Listen to the rest of the call as Miocic, Ngannou, Cormier and Oezdemir field questions from the media ahead of UFC 220 next weekend from Boston.
