Lewis Long Set To Face Ross Houston At Cage Warriors 91
The charismatic Welshman Lewis Long will kick off his 2018 campaign on March 3 when he takes on Ross Houston at Cage Warriors 91 in Newport, Wales.
Long (15-5) will be returning to action for the first time since having his three-fight win streak snapped by the now KSW welterweight champion, Roberto Soldic (13-2) at Cage Warriors 87. Prior to that loss, Long had put together a run of wins against Kes Mamba, Ryan Scope and Che Mills, and with 12 finishes in and amongst his 15 wins, he’s likely still only one win away from putting himself in contention for a shot at the Cage Warriors 170-pounds title.
Standing opposite Long on March 3 will be Houston (5-0), an undefeated Scotsman who recently flew to Las Vegas to tryout for the new The Ultimate Fighter series. Houston has fought three times in Cage Warriors so far and has picked up three wins with two submissions finishes and one unanimous decision. The young Scot will now face the toughest test of his career when he takes on Long in Newport at the Newport Centre.
“This is a fight that had to happen in the Cage Warriors Welterweight division,” said Cage Warriors President Graham Boylan. “Both of these guys have knockout power and legit submission skills, so people have been asking to see this one for a while. A lot of questions will be answered on March 3rd.”
The Cage Warriors 91 fight card is set to feature plenty of local Welsh talent with the likes of Josh Reed, Kris Edwards and Richard Williams all set to feature.
