KSW 43 Aftermath: Dricus Du Plessis, Norman Parke And Phil De Fries React To Their Wins
KSW 43 produced no end of drama and when it was all said and done, two new champions were crowned.
Dricus Du Plessis
In the main event, Dricus Du Plessis added a third world title to his collection when he defeated Roberto Soldic via TKO in the second round. Speaking backstage after his win, Du Plessis explained how he turned the tables on the powerful Croatian and how he set up the devastating finish.
Third from the top last evening, Phil De Fries became the news KSW heavyweight champion when he finished Michal Andryszak via TKO in round one. The man from Sunderland had to overcome an early onslaught from the Pole in the opening minute of the fight, but he managed to hold on and avoid being finished as Andryszak punched himself out. De Fries then went on to win the fight with strikes and in doing so he silenced the partisan Andryszak crowd. Speaking backstage after the fight, De Fries said he would aim to defend his title for the first time at KSW’s upcoming show in London later this year.
