Chimaev Triumphs Over Usman, Voices Passionate Plea Amid Controversy

In an intense showdown at UFC 294, Khamzat Chimaev emerged victorious against former welterweight champion Kamaru Usman, winning by majority decision. The battle, characterized by Chimaev’s early takedown and ground control, shifted into higher gears in the subsequent rounds, with Usman not giving in easily. However, it was Chimaev’s night as the judges declared him the winner.

Chimaev, visibly moved by his victory, took the opportunity to address the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict, a matter close to his heart, especially as a new father.

“I don’t want to see innocent children suffering,” he expressed, calling for peace among Jews, Muslims, and Christians.

However, his rhetoric took a sharp turn when addressing Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov and fellow Chechens, the tone becoming significantly more aggressive.

“May Allah bless you all; may Allah give you strength,”

Chimaev declared in Chechen, his words carrying an undeniable intensity.

“If Allah wills, I promise to go there [to Palestine] myself. In the name of Allah, give me a gun and let me go to Palestine.”

Notably, in his corner were two of Kadyrov’s sons, Ali and Adam, both of whom he previously coached. The aftermath of the fight saw Chimaev returning to a hero’s welcome in his homeland, an event captured in a video shared on Instagram, showcasing Kadyrov celebrating Chimaev’s victory and later escorting the UFC star to Chechnya via private jet.

Chimaev’s dual-tone messages — one advocating for peace and the other seemingly ready for conflict — have stirred global conversations, casting a long, complex shadow over his recent victory.
