Khamzat Chimaev reveals the ONE fighter he doesn’t want to fight!

✔ "He's really good"

Khamzat Chimaev wants to “kill everybody” in the octagon, though it seems he has a soft spot for one fighter in particular.

UFC 279 was a chaotic event to say the least, but in the end a successful one for Khamzat despite his weight woes. The young prospect picked up his sixth straight victory in the UFC and his fifth by finish when he submitted Kevin Holland with a D’arce choke in the very first round. During the post-fight press conference, the rising star was asked whether he was interested in locking horns with the former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker.

“I like that guy, so I don’t want to fight good guys,” Khamzat explained. “I need some bad guys, so I want to fight some bad guy, you know? And don’t feel sorry for that.”

Khamzat considers himself a big fan of the former champion, and believes there are more suitable opponents for him in the UFC. Although there are talks of Khamzat moving up to middleweight permanently after his weight debacle ahead of UFC 279, he himself isn’t sold on the idea yet and wants to discuss it with his coach first. If he does move up to 185 lbs, a fight against “The Reaper” may be inevitable.

“I want to train with that guy. He’s really good, like one of the best guys in the world. I was watching his fight. I’m a big fan, so I watch all things. I watch how he trains, and all these things. A lot of guys want to fight me, so Robert never said something bad about me. There’s a lot of guys talking shit about me. I’m gonna go take their heads off, you know? So, we’ll see.”
