“He has a meeting in the Kremlin in the next hour,” said Alexander Zagorsky, host at the press conference. However, circa an hour after this statement, a video of Nurmagomedov running on a treadmill was posted on social media.
Nurmagomedov is coming off of his second title defence. At UFC 242 he submitted Dustin Poirier in the third round of a dominant performance. That was his second straight submission win after tapping out Conor McGregor. While hailed as one of the pound-for-pound greats, Nurmagomedov has been criticised for some of his behaviour outside of the cage.
Nurmagomedov himself has not left an explanation for why he left the press conference, it remains to be seen what his reasons were.
