Kajan Johnson Says He’s Fighting Stevie Ray At UFC London
Just when you thought he was out of the mix, Stevie Ray appears to be back in the UFC and heading for a showdown with Kajan Johnson at UFC Fight Night London.
The news was announced this evening on social media by Johnson, who earlier in the day learned that his scheduled opponent Rustam Khabilov had pulled out of the bout injured. UK UFC fans took to social media on mass to let the UFC matchmakers know they wanted to see Ray, and it seems like they have got their wish.
It’s done guys, I’m fighting @StevenRayMMA in London. Just waiting on the contract now.

Ray responded to Johnson’s tweet just minutes later:
Nice man see u in London ?

Ray (21-7) has an impressive 5-2 record in the UFC with wins over the likes of Joe Lauzon and Ross Pearson. Prior to his last bout, Ray was offered a new contract by the organization, but under the instruction of his management company at the time, he turned the offer down with just one fight remaining on his contract. The Scot then went on to lose again Paul Felder at UFC Fight Night Glasgow last July and has since been kept on the sidelines awaiting the UFC to give him the call.
That call has taken a long time to come, but it would appear that Khabilov’s injury has given Ray the opportunity he has been waiting for. The UFC is yet to confirm the bout, but should it be added, Ray vs Johnson will join a fight card scheduled to take place on March 17 at the London O2 Arena. The event is set to headlined by a heavyweight bout pitting former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum vs Alexander Volkov.
