Jorge Masvidal Willing To Fight Michael Bisping At UFC London For The Right Money
UFC welterweight Jorge Masvidal says he wants to settle his differences with Michael Bisping and Neil Magny and that he’s even willing to take on the Brit in his own backyard for the right money.
Masvidal was speaking on MMAJunkie Radio yesterday and was asked about a recent social media post where he stated he’d like to fight either man. “Gamebred” said that he was planning to take a bit of time-off until his next fight, but did add that if the right offer came in, he’d happily step up to the plate to fight Bisping in March.
“The Bisping thing, it’s, I don’t like either of them, especially Bisping, I just don’t like him as a person,” Masvidal said. “Even before meeting him, then we met and I like him even less. With him, it’s just a personal thing you know. He disrespected my country when he ripped up the flag so he’s got a bounty on his head. I would like to cash in before he retires.
“That’s why I’m willing to fight so early, but if was up to me I’m just going to be getting in the gym until July or August and I’m just going to train, train, train and just go to the gym without having a fight. Just train and get better. Learn new things and just change up old habits. That takes a little bit of time to drill those things and execute them. That’s the only reason why I’m ready to step up early, because I don’t like Bisping’s a**.”
Bisping’s beef with Masvidal has been widely talked about and the two fighters have clashed multiple times including at UFC 217 this past November. Masvidal will have to move up a weight class to settle the feud, but as far as he’s concerned, if it makes the right dollars, it makes sense.
“If the money is right, yeah,” Masvidal said. “We had talked about it earlier, I don’t even know man, I’m losing my mind, I’m talking too much man, I’m already too much already, but I would fight his ass if they take care of me with the numbers, yeah. Yeah I’d like to put an end to that beef.”
Whilst settling the beef with Bisping was top of mind, Masvidal hasn’t forgotten about Magny. If neither fight materialises, it appears we won’t see Gamebred back in the UFC Octagon until mid year and he will continue to hone his skills at American Top Team in Florida.
“Definitely, either one of those guys I’m always interested in,” Masvidal said. “I just don’t like either one of them so either one of them can [get it]. If not, then I’m just going to be in the gym getting better.
“Just training, getting better and competing. Just in the gym and having fun you know, like when I first got into it. Just going into the gym and having fun and having no expectations and getting better every day.”
