Former UFC Star Jorge Masvidal Eyes Boxing Comeback!
“I wouldn’t mind smashing someone’s face”
Former UFC sensation Jorge Masvidal is gearing up for the next chapter in his combat sports journey. After hanging up his MMA gloves in 2023, following a string of four consecutive losses, Masvidal has set his sights on transitioning to boxing, much like some of his peers. A notable comeback fight against Nate Diaz is rumored to be in the works.
Since retiring from MMA, Masvidal has been busy with his tequila brand and his promotion, Gamebred FC, which features bareknuckle MMA fights. To draw attention to Gamebred FC and to indulge his love for boxing, Masvidal plans to make a comeback in his own organization.
“I love MMA,” Masvidal told Lowkick MMA. “It’s my favorite sport in the world, and I did it for 20 years. It will always be number one for me, but there’s a chance I’ll do some boxing matches. I wouldn’t mind smashing someone’s face. Boxing was the first martial art I discovered and started with. Then four or five years later, I discovered MMA.”

In recent years, several notable matches have taken place in the boxing ring, but Masvidal remains unimpressed by the performances of other MMA fighters who have entered the ring, believing he can do much better.
“They’re taking it easy,” Masvidal commented on other celebrity boxers. “Pointing fingers at each other. Taking selfies in the ring. When I go in, it will be to fight. To show people the beautiful science of boxing and use a lot of conditioning and emotions to really hurt these guys.”
