Jon Jones warns “Rumble” Johnson: “Happy to choke you out”
If “Rumble” wants to return, Jon Jones is happy to oblige and face the striker.
There has been much talk of former two-time title challenger Anthony “Rumble” Johnson returning to the UFC. Johnson retired from MMA following his second failed bid to capture the light heavyweight title, then held by Daniel Cormier. Since his retirement in 2017, has has, however, expressed a desire to return on several occasions.

Johnson was once scheduled to face current light heavyweight champ Jon Jones for the title, but the bout fell through. Now, it seems, Jones is open for the fight that never was.
“We’ve always been cool but I’ll be more than happy to choke you out if that’s what you’re looking for,” Jones wrote to “Rumble” on Twitter.
Johnson’s last three wins in the UFC were all via brutal knockout. “Rumble” finished Ryan Bader, Jimi Manuwa and former title contender Glover Teixeira in devastating fashion.
Jones is lacking a clear title contender as of now. While there are interesting, future contenders such as Aleksandar Rakic, Johnny Walker and Dominick Reyes on their way up, none have been considered for a title shot. A bout between Jones and “Rumble” would without doubt be one of the bigger fights to book in the division, but the ball is in Johnson’s court at the moment.
