Jon Jones Trashes Alexander Gustafsson After Lobbing Accusations of Cheating

Jon Jones has been bickering with former opponent Alexander Gustafsson for a few days now and he just ripped the top ranked light heavyweight in their latest exchange.

Jon Jones is getting tired of hearing from Alexander Gustafsson.

Gustafsson has managed to get embroiled in a pair of heated exchanges over Twitter recently with Jones and reigning light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier after signing his new contract with the UFC and then talking about both of them on Joe Rogan’s podcast.

The latest exchange started with Gustafsson referencing his 2013 fight against Jones, which was a five round war, and then saying that the former champion was on ‘the good stuff’ during the championship rounds. Gustafsson was obviously referencing Jones’ failed drug test from last July that showed trace amounts of an anabolic steroid in his system that may result in up to a four year suspension from the sport.

Jones has always maintained his innocence regarding the drug test and he didn’t take too kindly to Gustafsson’s jab at him so he unleashed on the Swedish fighter in a series of vitriolic messages over Twitter.

“Brilliant come back, just what I expected from you. I guess ‘Shogun’ [Mauricio Rua], ‘Rampage’ [Quinton Jackson], [Ryan] Bader etc. could all use the same excuse now too. Do you look yourself in the mirror and call yourself champ now that “I cheated”,” Jones said to Gustafsson.

“Please tell me you convinced yourself that I was on steroids during our fight please tell me you convinced yourself I was ever on steroids. The only “good stuff” I used to send you packing was my big old American balls. Try spending a little more time here, maybe you’ll learn a thing or two.”

Jones has been much more vocal on social media in the past few weeks while firing back at his detractors.

The embattled former UFC champion is still awaiting word from USADA on when he’ll be able to resume his career. Jones could face up to a four year suspension because he’s violated the UFC’s anti-doping policy twice already.

As for Gustafsson, he’s anxiously awaiting his next fight after inking a new multi-fight contract with the UFC last week.
