Jon Jones Shows His Support For Fabricio Werdum: ‘I Despise Racism, Good Job’

Jon Jones has reached out to Fabricio Werdum to support him for confronting Colby Covington

UFC welterweight Colby Covington was involved in an altercation with Brazilian heavyweight Fabricio Werdum earlier today in Sydney, Australia and the world has been reacting this morning. Covington is a guest fighter for UFC Fight Night 121 this weekend, while Werdum will take on Marcin Tybura in the main event.

Conflicting reports have come out as to how the confrontation started, but it appears that Werdum took exception to the comments that Covington made after his fight in Sao Paulo last month when he defeated Demian Maia and labelled Brazil ‘a dump’ and it’s citizens ‘filthy animals’.

Video footage of Werdum throwing a boomerang at Covington was released by UFC lightweight Dan Hooker later in the evening and this sparked off a number of the fighters on the UFC roster reacting online.

Suffice to say, a number of fighters reached out to support Werdum for his actions. Perhaps the most notable was the former UFC light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones who offered his support to the Brazilian.
