Jon Jones chooses next title challenger: “Beating his ass next”

UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and his team have decided between Corey Anderson and Dominick Reyes as next title challenger

The landscape at light heavyweight has changed. Many of the previous contenders have faded while promising rising stars like Aleksandar Rakic and Dominck Reyes have begin climbing the ranks. Another one of those rising stars was Johnny Walker, who was brutally knocked out this weekend by Corey Anderson, who has silently been building up an impressive win streak of his own. The end goal for all fighters is a bout with divisional champ Jon Jones, and he seems to have made a choice regarding the next title contender.

The two front runners for title contention have been Reyes, one one hand, who has won six straight fights. The other is now Anderson, who halted Walker’s momentum, and has four straight wins of his own. After consulting with his team, Jones now leans in the same direction as UFC president Dana White: Reyes.

This will undoubtedly get under Anderson’s skin, who demanded a title shot after defeating Walker this weekend. He event went so far as to say that the UFC could release him from his contract if he didn’t receive the next title shot at light heavyweight. In his ongoing win streak he has defeated the likes of Glover Teixeira and Ilir Latifi.

Reyes has taken the division by storm, and is still undefeated in his pro MMA career. So far he has gotten past Ovince Saint Preux, Volkan Oezdemir  amongst others, and most recently he knocked out Chris Weidman.

Who do you think deserves the next title shot at light heavyweight?
