The Brazilian knockout artist once again honed his reputation as one of the most powerful punchers in the bantamweight division as he flattened Brian Kelleher at UFC 224 in Brazil on Saturday night.

They don’t call John Lineker ‘Hands of Stone’ for nothing.

The Brazilian knockout artist once again honed his reputation as one of the most powerful punchers in the bantamweight division as he flattened Brian Kelleher at UFC 224 in Brazil on Saturday night.

Always fighting like a buzz saw, Lineker was moving forward on a straight line just looking to punish Kelleher with his power punches.

Lineker was in constant pursuit as he looked to land his blistering combinations while Kelleher was trying to find his footing without constantly being forced to back up. About midway through the round, Lineker blasted Kelleher with a powerful left hook that dropped the American fighter to the mat, although he was able to quickly recover before getting back to his feet.

Kelleher did manage to crack Lineker with a slick spinning back fist late in the round but overall he just wasn’t able to find a home for his most effective strikes.

Lineker’s game plan didn’t change much in the second round as he continuously stalked Kelleher around the Octagon, bombing away with big hooking shots to the head and body. Kelleher tried to counter Lineker but he just couldn’t put together any real combinations as the Brazilian was just charging forward with powerful punches.

With time running out in the fight, Kelleher’s corner implored him to push the pace as he was likely only going to get a win with a finish but that game plan backfired as Lineker took full advantage of the openings created by his opponent’s attempts to create some offense.

Lineker was able to continue pushing forward and with Kelleher on his back foot, the Brazilian uncorked another devastating left hook similar to the one he landed in the first round except this one put his opponent down and out for good.

The referee quickly rushed into stop the fight with the end coming at 3:43 into the final round.

Following the win, Lineker sent a message to the UFC brass that he’s coming for the bantamweight title following back-to-back wins in the division.

“Hands of Stone” is back,” Lineker shouted. “Dana White, Sean Shelby, I want to fight for the title”
