Joanna Jedrzejczyk set to face “The Karate Hottie” in October

✅ A high-stakes bout between two top ranked strawweights is set for the fall ✅ Winner of the bout may very well be awarded title shot

The next title challenger at strawweight may very well be produced in San Francisco this fall.

According to reports from ESPN, former strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk (15-3, #4) is set to take on Michelle “The Karate Hottie”Waterson (17-6, #7) at UFC on ESPN+ 19 on October 12th. As of now the event does not have a city or venue set, but it is rumoured to take place in San Francisco.

Jedrzejczyk enters the fight on a tough skid, having lost three out of her last four bouts. After getting brutally knocked out by Rose Namajuans and losing her title at UFC 217, the polish former champion lost the subsequent rematch via decision. After a win over Tecia Torres, she would move to flyweight to challenge reigning champion Valentina Shevchenko – but once again came up short via decision.

Waterson, on the other hand, is enjoying a nice rebound after a tough 2017 where she lost two straight fights. She returned to the win column by defeating Cortney Casey, then lined up victories over Felice Herrig and Karolina Kowalkiewicz, all by decision.

Who wins between Jedrzejczyk and Waterson?
