Joanna Jedrzejczyk Hints That Her Next Fight Is Already In The Works

Former UFC strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk has hinted that her next fight is already in the works.

Joanna Jedrzejczyk is barely three weeks departed from her last fight at UFC 223, but already it appears that she’s looking to get her next fight arranged.

Speaking this morning on Dzien Dobry TVN (Good Morning) TV in Poland, the former champion addressed her unanimous decision loss to Rose Namajunas earlier this month and reiterated what she’s been saying over the past few months about the scorecards not reflecting the actual fight.

“I haven’t rewatched the fight, but my coaches did. They were really concerned, this fight really could go either way. But numbers don’t lie,” Jedrzejczyk said.

“The judges might have thought that my face was more swollen and I have more bruises. I am really susceptible to bruises, but it shouldn’t affect scorecards.”

The Pole then pointed at the fact that the New York State Athletic Commission (NYSAC) have not long been governing the sport in the State and that it might have been their inexperience that led to the scorecards the way they were.

“New York is the boxing area,” Jedrzejczyk said.

“MMA was forbidden sport there for really long time. They have a referees commission there for just one and a half years, so it’s quite young and these referees don’t really know how to score properly.

“I love fighting there, but I surely want my next fight to take place in another state.”

Jedrzejczyk then revealed that despite her original plans to take some time away from MMA, she’s already planning her next fight and that a contract might be getting signed sooner rather than later.

“I was supposed not to think about MMA, about business for a month, but to be honest, I’m already settling my next fight,” Jedrzejczyk said.

“I will tell you more when I sign the contract.”
