Jimmy Smith Makes His Color Commentary Debut at UFC 221: Rockhold vs. Romero
Veteran color commentator Jimmy Smith has his first event booked as part of the UFC broadcast team.
Smith, who just recently joined the UFC after spending several years as the color commentator for Bellator MMA, made his on air debut last weekend as part of the studio team covering UFC 220 from Boston.
Now Smith will return to his more familiar job as a color commentator for the upcoming UFC 221 card taking place in Australia with an interim middleweight title fight at the top pitting Luke Rockhold against Yoel Romero.

Smith parted ways with Bellator MMA late last year but it didn’t take long for the UFC to snap him up and add him to the broadcast team that also includes play-by-play man Jon Anik as well as color commentators such as Joe Rogan, light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier, former champion Dominick Cruz and lightweight contender Paul Felder.
Smith is officially in the rotation now with his first gig booked at UFC 221 as he’ll travel to Australia for the upcoming pay-per-view card on Feb. 10 from Perth.
