Jimmie Rivera vs. Marlon Moraes in the Works to Headline UFC Card in Utica, N.Y.
A bantamweight rivalry will finally be settled at UFC Fight Night on June 1 when Jimmie Rivera is expected to face Marlon Moraes in the headline fight for the first ever card in Utica, N.Y.
Sources close to the matchup confirmed the news on Friday following an initial report from MMAFighting. UFC officials have made no announcement regarding the fight at this time.
Rivera has gone undefeated since joining the UFC but unfortunately he’s been on the sidelines since last July due to injuries preventing his most recently scheduled bout this past December. Now Rivera will look to restart his momentum when he steps back into the Octagon in June.
Meanwhile, Moraes is coming off back-to-back wins in the UFC and he’s been calling for a fight against Rivera since last November. Sadly the matchup hasn’t come together until now but whatever bad blood that first spawned this rivalry certainly hasn’t dissolved over the past few months.
Now Rivera and Moraes will look to settle the score when they meet on June 1 in New York.
