Jimmie Rivera Pulled from UFC 219; Marc Diakiese vs. Dan Hooker Bumped to Main Card

Rivera vs. Lineker has been scrapped, Diakiese vs. Hooker now takes its place on the main card at UFC 219

A change has been made to the UFC 219 main card for Saturday night in Las Vegas with the loss of a big bantamweight matchup.

John Lineker was forced off the card earlier this week and with very little time remaining until the event, the UFC was unable to secure a new opponent for Jimmie Rivera.

Now Rivera has been pulled from UFC 219 and the lightweight matchup between Marc Diakiese and Dan Hooker will get bumped up from the prelims to the main card on pay-per-view.

UFC officials announced the changes on Wednesday.

With Rivera vs. Lineker scrapped, UFC 219 will now move forward with 10 total bouts on the card taking place from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Dec. 30.

The UFC hasn’t announced if they will attempt to rebook Rivera against Lineker in the future or just move both fighters to new matchups in 2018.
