Jimi Manuwa Sick Of ‘So-Called MMA Fans Trashing The Best Fighters In The World’

Jimi Manuwa could end up headlining his second UFC London card in a row and he's ready to put on a show.

UFC light heavyweight Jimi Manuwa could be headlining UFC London for the second time in two years and that’s left some fans in the UK MMA community a little unhappy.

The headline bout for UFC London is sill yet to be confirmed and if things play out like they did last year, Manuwa vs Jan Blachowicz could be elevated to the top of the card. While this might not be the ideal scenario for fans wanting to see Darren Till or Michael Bisping fight, it’s fair to say some of the feedback sent Manuwa’s way already hasn’t been deserved and it’s not gone unnoticed by the Londoner.

Speaking to MMANytt.com last week, Manuwa described how the amount of trolling fighters have to deal with online is becoming ever increasing and how it’s not something that sits well him.

“MMA fans, the so-called fans, they talk too much s***,” Manuwa said. “They’ve all got something to say. It doesn’t even piss me off anymore. I just browse over what they say and it just makes me laugh. They’re the worst people in the world. I swear man, I just don’t get what they want from me. I really don’t.

“It’s so sad seeing people trashing on professional athletes. We’re the best fighters in the world. We’re all in the UFC because we’re the best fighters in the world. People putting me and other fighters down telling us we’re s***, I’m ranked #4 in the world. That speaks for itself. I don’t care what they have to say. People just need to stop this s*** talking on social media. Most the time when you actually look on their profile, it’s just some 13-year-old kid, but people look at it and they just follow it. Once one person says something, someone else agrees and then it just snowballs. No one has their own thoughts. People need to stop being sheep.”

The probability of Manuwa headlining the March 17 UFC London fight card grows every day. Whilst some of the fanbase might be hoping for another headline bout, Manuwa’s promising that if he gets the nod, fans aren’t going to leave the arena disappointed.

“Come on bruv, this is London and I’m the London boy,” Manuwa said. “Last year I gave them a spectacular first round knockout against Corey Anderson and this time I plan to do that again. Me being in the main event is only right. Don’t blame me for the ranking of the guy I’m facing.

“I called out Glover Teixeira to give everyone and all the London fans a great fight and it would’ve been. We’re two bangers and he’d definitely be hunting to the takedown with me. He strikes hard and everything, but I got so much power and I’m so angry after my last fight, I’m going to flatten anyone that gets in my way.”
