Jan Blachowicz Says The Top KSW Fighters Would Do Very Well In The UFC
Jan Blachowicz has his hands full tomorrow with Jimi Manuwa, but he’s had some of the best fighters from his home country of Poland to help him prepare for UFC London.
The Pole reigned as KSW light heavyweight champion between 2011 and 2013 before being signed to the UFC and making his debut the following year. Back in Poland, Blachowicz still trains alongside many of KSW’s biggest names including the likes of Michal Materla and Tomasz Narkun.
Speaking with MMANytt.com at the UFC London media day, Blachowicz said he thinks that the top talent in KSW would do well if they fought in the UFC.
“Every fighter is different you know, they have to fight together and then we will know where they are,” Blachowicz said.
“I think top-3 in KSW could be top-10 in UFC.”
Just 2 weeks ago, Blachowicz’s teammate Narkun defeated the legend Mamed Khalidov in a catchweight bout.
Narkun currently holds the same KSW light heavyweight belt that Blachowicz did back in 2013 and he said he was confident his teammate would be able to defeat the man most people regard as the best Polish fighter of all time.
“I know if the fight go longer, he would start to win it and he was finally catching Khalidov.
“He didn’t lose in the first round and I knew he just had to wait a bit and he would catch him.”
Blachowicz then on to reveal that Narkun is currently a free agent and has fought out his KSW contract.
“He would be top-10 UFC already. If he signed a contract with UFC we will see now.
“He had a three fight deal and he don’t have a contract after that fight with Mamed, so maybe.
“He’s one of the best in the world so he would be in the top-10.”
