James Gallagher Reveals Details About His Injury, Hopes to Return at Bellator 200

James Gallagher doesn't expect to be sidelined all that long after being knocked out of Bellator 196

No one was more disappointed about a change in the main event at Bellator 196 than James Gallagher.

The rising star from Ireland was forced out his scheduled fight due to a hand injury, which was unfortunate timing considering hie last bout took place in June 2017. Gallagher already had injuries that kept him sidelined for most of 2017 so he was anxious to get back in action.

Now it appears Gallagher will have to wait at least until May to make his return after he explained what forced him out of Bellator 196 while targeting his return at Bellator 200 in London.

“Want to say sorry to everyone who was tuning to watch me fight for this setback,” Gallagher said on Instagram. “I was at 100-percent healthy and ready to strangle everyone in this division once again, but I fractured my hand in an unlucky training accident. I stayed in the fight and would have done it with one hand easy, but unfortunately I couldn’t get medically cleared and had to step out.

“Thanks to all of you for the ongoing support, and rest assured to the Jimmy Show will be back soon enough to clear out all of these bums. I’m going to be ready for Bellator 200 in London in May. Who wants to see me on it ?”

Gallagher is undefeated in his career with a perfect 4-0 mark thus far in Bellator while making a quick rise up the ranks in the featherweight division.

Considering that Bellator 200 takes place in London, Gallagher would seem like a natural fit for the card with plenty of Irish fans traveling to see him fight.
