Jack McGann Signs With Boxing Promoter Frank Warren
Former BAMMA and Fight Nights Global fighter Jack McGann has put his MMA career on the backburner for the time being and has signed with British boxing promoter, Frank Warren.
McGann, 24, had a 11-5 MMA record and was known for being a hard hitting stand up fighter. Hailing from Liverpool, 10 of his 11 career wins came via KO/TKO and his five losses and his opponent would usually want to do anything but stand with him. Having suffered back-to-back losses in Russian promotion Fight Nights Global, McGann has now made the move over to boxing and he’s excited about the new opportunities that await him.
“I’m used to sparring world class boxers, I’ve been doing that weekly for years, so it always intrigued me, switching codes. But (Conor) McGregor really opened the door in terms of the potential for fighters to switch codes,” McGann said via press realease.
“I’ve been fighting in Russia for a couple of years against their top-level guys. So, I am used to testing myself at the most extreme levels.”
McGann is signing with legendary promoter Frank Warren, a man renowned for putting on some of the biggest boxing fight nights in he UK.
“I’m looking forward to working with Jack,” Warren says, “his MMA record speaks for itself. Eleven wins all by knockout and ten of those coming in the first round – he clearly possesses power in both hands!
“I’ve been very impressed with what I’ve seen of his career and I am confident he can make a smooth transition into professional boxing. Jack has already taken on some big names in the world of mixed martial arts and, with the right guidance, he can make an even bigger impact in the boxing ring.”
