Israel Adesanya Gets A Fast Turnaround Against Marvin Vettori

The UFC has moved quickly to get Israel Adesanya another fight after his debut at UFC 221 13 days ago and have booked him to face Marvin Vettori at UFC Glendale on April 14.

The bout was confirmed this evening by MMAJunkie.

Adesanya (12-0) made his UFC debut earlier this month when he defeated Rob Wilkinson via second-round TKO in Perth, Australia. Prior to his entrance in the UFC, Adesanya had built quite a reputation for himself with nearly 100 professional combat sports bouts across boxing, kickboxing, Muay Thai and MMA. “Style Bender” made a big splash on his UFC debut with his incredible array of striking and charismatic interviews both prior and post-fight.

Vettori (12-3-1) last competed at UFC 219 when he was involved in a majority draw against Omari Akhmedov. Prior to that fight, the Italian had gone 2-1 in the UFC with wins over Vitor Miranda and Alberto Uda sandwiching a loss to Antônio Carlos Júnior.

The UFC Glendale card looks to be nearing completion now and will be headlined by Dustin Poirier facing Justin Gaethje in the main event.
