Gregor Gillespie Stays Undefeated with Punishing Performance Over Jordan Rinaldi
Gregor Gillespie is the real deal.
The former NCAA National Champion wrestler moved to 4-0 in the Octagon with a punishing performance to finish Jordan Rinaldi in the first round at UFC on FOX 27 in Charlotte.
While Gillespie has been working on his striking in recent fights, the four-time All American wrestler went back to his roots in this fight as he planted Rinald on the mat early and then went to work with his grappling attack.
Gillespie was methodical as he worked past Rinaldi’s defense on the ground before he began blasting away with punches from the mount.

Rinaldi did his best to roll out of the position but that only put Gillespie on his back where he kept firing away with jackhammer like shots. With about a minute to go in the round, Rinaldi had no escape except to put his hands up over his head and wait for the referee to stop the onslaught.
The end came at 4:46 into the opening round.
Following the win, Gillespie admitted that he’s probably never going to be the guy to call anybody out after his fights, but considering his performances in the UFC thus far, it’s going to be tough to keep him away from a top 15 opponent in the very near future.
“You put someone in front of me and I’ll beat them,” Gillespie said.
With a perfect 11-0 record, Gillespie moves forward in a very deep and dangerous lightweight division.
