Former heavyweight champ Junior dos Santos was forced out of a scheduled bout with Russian Alexander Volkov, due to a skin infection. With the UFC seeking a replacement for the “JDS” in the main event at UFC Moscow on November 9th, Hardy has now agreed to fill in, per ESPN. The bout will now serve as the co-main event, though, with Zabit Magomedsharipov vs Calvin Kattar as the main event.

In his UFC debut de lost via disqualification for kneeing downed opponent Allen Crowder. Hardy then lined up two straight TKO wins, his latest win over Juan Adams. His most recent bout with Ben Sosoli was at first a win for Hardy via unanimous decision. The celebration was cut short though, as the athletic commission changed the result to a No Contest due to Hardy’s use of an inhaler in between rounds two and three. Hardy maintained that it was USADA-approved, though he did not ask any official for permission.
