Germaine de Randamie injured, UFC seeking replacement to face Marion Reneau

The nagging hand injury that plagued Germaine de Randamie going into her last fight against Holly Holm has flared up once again and it’s forced her out of her upcoming bout against Marion Reneau at UFC Fight Night in the Netherlands next weekend.

Sources confirmed the news to MMANytt.com on Friday following an initial report from MMAJunkie.

According to sources, de Randamie is suffering from the same hand injury that put her out of action after becoming the first women’s featherweight champion in UFC history in February.

It appears now the injury is so severe that it will finally force de Randamie into surgery, which was a possibility following her win over Holm as well.

Unfortunately, de Randamie dropping out of the fight means Reneau has no opponent with just over a week to go until the card in the Netherlands.

UFC officials are said to be searching for a last minute replacement, but with time running out until the card, it’s tough to say whether or not they’ll find a viable candidate.
