Free Agent Brendan Loughnane Says He Has A Contract Offer From PFL
Brendan Loughnane is currently enjoying life as a free agent and he says all options are open right now.
Loughnane has been recovering from a broken arm sustained in his last ACB last November and is now looking forward to getting a return date in place for later this year.
Speaking backstage with MMANytt.com this evening, Loughnane explained that he currently has multiple contracts on the table but he’s currently holding out hope he might get the call to replace Alex Reyes on the UFC London fight card.
“I’m still a free agent as we speak,” Loughnane said. “There are some great offers on the table and if this doesn’t come through (UFC London) then there are still great offers.
“I’m hoping to fight in the States more than once this year and with these offers on the table it can happen.”
Loughnane went on to reveal that the UFC have been in contact about the fight, but had told him he wouldn’t be first choice.
“I’m really happy to be in the position I’m in and like I said, right now I’ve got no contract,” Loughnane said.
“The UFC, I was speaking to them the other day and they said if they couldn’t get anyone on the roster then I would be in.
“If I get the call I can go fight next week no problem.”
While a call up to UFC London may now look unlikely, the Mancunian has no shortage of offers on the table. One of offers is from the Professional Fighters League (PFL).
“PFL is on the table too,” Loughnane confirmed.
“PFL is there, so let’s see. I can say PFL, ACB, there’s a couple of others that I don’t really want to go into it with them, but they’re all great offers and I’m really happy and humbled to have all those offers on the table because I know there are some fighters who don’t have any offers.”
It was recently announced the PFL season will start on June 7 with post-season events held throughout October, with the finals going down on Dec. 31. The total prize pool of $10,000,000 will see the winners of each of the six weight divisions take home $1,000,000.
The promotion also recently announced that the event will be aired on NBC Sports and Facebook.
