“Just had a very productive meeting with the boss man Dana White and Hunter Campbell,” Ngannou wrote. “Excited to get back to work. Big news coming soon.”
Ngannou debuted in the UFC in 2015 and lined up six impressive victories via finish, including a brutal knockout over former champ Andrei Arlovski. This eventually led to a title shot against Miocic at UFC 220. Despite a strong opening for Ngannou, Miocic would turn the tide and dominate the title challenger, winning via unanimous decision.
After this Ngannou faced Derrick Lewis in a lacklustre fight the the latter won via decision, but that was a huge disappointment to all the fans. Since then, though, Ngannou has knocked out all his following opponents in the first round. Two of them include former champs Cain Velasquez and Junior dos Santos.
