Fabricio Werdum now faces Walt Harris on UFC 216 main card

Walt Harris has accepted a last second switch to fight Fabricio Werdum at UFC 216

An injury to Derrick Lewis forced him out of UFC 216 just minutes before the event began but his opponent Fabricio Werdum will stay on the card after all.

Heavyweight Walt Harris offered to step up from the early preliminary card to face Werdum and the former heavyweight champion accepted immediately.

Now Werdum faces Harris in a heavyweight showdown set for the UFC 216 pay-per-view main card on Saturday night from Las Vegas.

Harris was originally scheduled to face Mark Godbeer, but now it appears he will be pulled from the card entirely. It’s likely Godbeer will still be paid his show money for the card due to the last second nature of the change but UFC officials have made no formal announcement yet.

Werdum vs. Harris will be featured on the pay-per-view main card alongside two title fights featuring an interim lightweight championship bout between Tony Ferguson and Kevin Lee as well as flyweight king Demetrious Johnson facing off with Ray Borg.
