Everything You Need To Know About UFC 229 As Conor McGregor Takes On Khabib Nurmagomedov
UFC 229 goes down next Saturday at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada as Conor McGregor challenges Khabib Nurmagomedov for the UFC lightweight title.
McGregor vs Nurmagomedov background
The two fighters have a long and storied history together but things really hit boiling point earlier this year during UFC 223 fight week.
The now infamous incident took place in Brooklyn, New York when McGregor attacked a bus carrying Nurmagomedov and threw a dolly through a window in an attempt to get revenge on the Russian who earlier in the week had confronted his teammate Artem Lobov.
Thankfully, no one involved got seriously injured and with the court in New York deciding against giving the Irishman jail time, it was only a matter of time before the two were on a collision course inside the UFC Octagon.
With Nurmagomedov winning McGregor’s vacated UFC lightweight title at UFC 223 against Al Iaquinta, the two will now clash in a five-round main event fight at UFC 229 to settle their feud and determine the true kingpin at 155-pounds in the UFC.
