Ed Arthur Takes On Mike Ekundayo At Cage Warriors 95 In London
Cage Warriors return to the English capital on July 21 and an exciting domestic bantamweight fight has been announced today with Ed Arthur taking on Mike Ekundayo.
Nathaniel Wood, who debuts in the UFC tomorrow evening at UFC Utica, vacated the Cage Warriors bantamweight title earlier this month and the promotion have seemingly wasted little time bringing in some fresh talent with both Arthur and Ekundayo set to make their Cage Warriors debuts.
Arthur (8-3) is considered one of the premier domestic talents at 135-pounds and has wins over Wood, Cameron Else and Alan Philpott on his record. Cage Warriors analyst Dan Hardy has long sung the praises of Arthur who will now be looking to make a winning return to the cage after not fighting in 2017.
He will take on the unbeaten Ekundayo (6-0) who competed this past weekend at Bellator 200 where he defeated Tom Mearns in the opening fight on the card. Ekundayo trains out of Titan Fighter MMA under the tutelage of UK MMA legend Brad Pickett and alongside former champion Wood. He will now look to continue his winning ways against Arthur on July 21.
The Cage Warriors 95 fight card will take place the O2 Indigo Theatre and has yet to have a main event announced. Confirmed names for the card include Karl Moore who will defend his Cage Warriors light heavyweight title, Brad Wheeler, Mason Jones, Emrah Sonmez, Josh Onwordi and Kris Edwards
