✅ Dustin Poirier sees himself knocking "Nathan Diaz" out

Dustin Poirier has not fought since Khabib Nurmagomedov put a stop to his six-bout undefeated streak in early September. Now, the former interim lightweight champion is looking to get back into the cage, and it seems like he has his eyes set on Nate Diaz.

Dustin Poirier vs. Nate Diaz?

Poirier and Diaz has a past. In August 2018, Poirier agreed to fight Diaz on November 3, 2018, in Madison Square Garden. Unfortunately, “The Diamond” had to pull out because of a hip injury and the fight never materialized.

Poirier would instead defeat Max Holloway and claim the lightweight interim title, while Diaz was out of competition until August 2019 when he squared up against former lightweight champion Anthony Pettis.

Despite being away from MMA for three years, Diaz picked up the unanimous decision with ease and then called out Jorge Masvidal. The two fought at UFC 244 in early November, with Masvidal claiming the BMF title with a doctor stoppage victory after the third round.

Since then, Diaz has talked about retirement, but a fight against Poirier might make the Stockton star reconsider another comeback.
