Derek Brunson Calls for Fight Against Michael Bisping
Derek Brunson knows exactly who he wants to fight next.
The top 10 ranked middleweight is gunning for a showdown with former champion Michael Bisping, who has said he likely has one bout left in his career before retiring from the sport.
While Bisping was previously attached to a rumored bout against Rashad Evans at UFC Fight Night in London, the fight never came together and the veteran British competitor remains on the sidelines undecided on whether or not he’ll opt to compete again.
If he does want to fight, Brunson is more than happy to meet him in the Octagon as he explained on Twitter on Tuesday.
Dear @bisping,
You’re no easy fight. Obviously you’re ranked ahead of me… it only makes sense for a #6 being you and #7 being me to fight. Upside for both of us. The top half of the division is older than us both stop crying. You aren’t going anywhere, neither am I. pic.twitter.com/3mTRfZqKns

Both Brunson and Bisping are coming back from knockout losses in their most recent fights. Brunson fell to Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza in January while Bisping suffered a defeat at the hands of Kelvin Gastelum last year in a bout he took on very short notice.
Now Brunson hopes to give Bisping one last fight in the UFC before he calls it a career.
