David Zawada Steps In To Face Danny Roberts At UFC Hamburg
Danny Roberts has a new opponent for UFC Hamburg, David Zawada.
The UFC made the announcement this weekend during the UFC Boise broadcast.
Zawada (16-3) fights out of UFD GYM Dusseldorf alongside his brother Martin Zawada and former KSW welterweight champion Roberto Soldic. The German most recently competed at KSW 43 when he pulled off an incredible comeback victory to submit Michal Michalski in the third round. Zawada is currently riding a five fight win streak competing under both the KSW and GMC fight banners. Zawada was expected to compete in the welterweight league for the PFL, but he will now face Roberts in Hamburg this coming Saturday.
Roberts (15-3) is coming off the back of a knockout win over Oliver Enkamp this past March at UFC Fight Night 127 in London, England. The Englishman has a 5-2 UFC record with his two losses coming against Nordine Taleb and his infamous war with Mike Perry at UFC 204 in Manchester, England. Despite losing his original opponent Alan Jouban on short notice, Roberts insisted he wanted to stay on the card this weekend.
