Darren Till: ‘I Fought Donald Cerrone With A Torn ACL’
Darren Till exploded onto the world stage when he defeated Donald ‘Cowboy’ Cerrone at UFC Gdansk last year, but only yesterday did he reveal that he did it whilst severely injured.
Less than 24-hours ago, Till and Dan Hardy announced that the UFC would be heading to Liverpool for the first time on May 27 to stage a show at the 11,000 capacity Echo Arena.
Till was then taken backstage to speak to press and during a question about potential opponent for the upcoming Liverpool where he revealed midway through that he took the fight against Cerrone whilst hampered by a serious knee injury.
“We’ve all got injuries,” Till said.
“I fought in the Cowboy fight with a torn ACL.
“We’ve all got injuries so I don’t really know. My hands are quite broken at the moment, but it’s the same for Masvidal you know.
“I asked for him and he said he might be a bit unfit. I understand, he’s a guy that wouldn’t give two s***s about coming to my hometown.
“He’s not a guy that’s going to quiver away and he’s going to try and take my head off as I will do to him.”
