Darren Till Doubtful of Conor McGregor’s Return, Shifts Focus to Influencer Boxing Scene
Darren Till has expressed doubts about Conor McGregor’s potential return to the world of mixed martial arts. Despite McGregor’s recent hints at a comeback, Till believes that McGregor is finding it challenging to move on from his fighting career. Till emphasized that McGregor’s reluctance to transition is hindering his return.
In an interview with SportsLens, Till shared his opinion, stating,
“Conor’s never coming back, in my opinion… He’s older, he doesn’t train like he used to. He’s got the money and his beautiful kids, and the only problem is that he just does not want to let it go.”
Till acknowledged that there might come a day when McGregor realizes he needs to move on and let go of his fighting identity.
Till highlighted McGregor’s public behavior, particularly on social media, indicating his concerns:
“Every recording on Twitter he’s just drunk as f*** and I’m just crying my eyes out laughing at him. It will take him a while, but he’ll find his peace. My opinion of Conor is you have to respect what he’s done, but it’s time to let go. He’s struggling to let go.”
Although McGregor has been actively discussing his fighting situation and potential matchups, he has yet to re-enter the USADA testing pool, a necessary step for a return. While McGregor’s future remains uncertain, Till suggested that perhaps McGregor is waiting for the right timing.
Till also shared his eagerness to step back into the fighting arena. Having been granted his release from the UFC in February, Till is now focused on boxing and expressed his readiness to face prominent figures in the influencer boxing scene. He voiced his determination to fight, stating,
“I need to fight now. I’m so ready to fight… I’m feeling powerful and big.”
While Till remains confident and proactive about his future in boxing, he casts a skeptical eye on McGregor’s return to the octagon, believing that McGregor’s struggles to move on from his fighting career might hinder any potential comeback.
