Dana White Blasts Back: “You Are Not a Fucking Youtuber – You Are a Fighter!”
UFC President Dana White is not happy about Paulo Costa’s comments about his UFC pay and blasts him this week in an interview.
It all started with the Brazilian Costa withdrawing from his bout against Jared Cannonier scheduled for August 21. According to Paulo Costa, the UFC had announced the match even though he did not signed the contract.
Costa also said he was not happy with his pay and compared himself to the YouTube stars Logan Paul and Jake Paul who have been paid millions of dollars in their boxing matches.
“The UFC has to pay me as a fighter who fights in major fights,” Costa wrote on social media. The Youtubers show all the shame in this business. Just to clarify, I have never signed or locked myself into that contract (the fight against Cannonier). Why did the UFC announce the fight if I did not sign?
In an interview with TSN’s Aaron Bronsteter, White responded and he did not hold back.
– You signed a contract, and you have a contract, White said about Costa’s comments. If that’s how you feel, you know what I’m saying all the time: we have fights every weekend. If you want to stay active, you can fight every weekend if you want. Leave your contract and go and do what you want!
Bronsteter asked if White was willing to let Costa leave his UFC contract, but White made it clear that the Brazilian must meet the requirements he undertook, a certain number of matches.
Dana White on Paulo Costa's recent tweets: "You should've started a YouTube channel when you were f****** 13 years old and built your name up and everything else and you could have had the fight"

Dana White on Paulo Costa: “Should start a YouTube channel”
Dana White continued to criticize Costa, saying that he should have started a YouTube channel and built his brand if he wanted to earn the money that the Paul brothers brings in.
– You know what? You should have started a YouTube channel when you were thirteen fucking years old and built up your name and everything else. Then you could have gone that fight […] You’re not a fucking YouTuber, you’re a fighter and this is what you do to support yourself. Or you do not, it’s up to you.
White also said that Costa is not in a great position to negotiate a better pay. The UFC president referred to Costa’s last fight where he lost via TKO against middleweight champion Israel Adesanya.
“You’re not in a position to talk about crazy money after your last performance,” White said about Costa. Either you want to fight or you do not want to fight.
The Paul Brothers’ pay in the boxing world has led to major discussions about salaries in the MMA world. Heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou has also spoken out and questioned his salary.
