Dana White Announces UFC Won’t Renew Mokaev’s Contract
Manchester, England – UFC President Dana White has confirmed that the organization will not renew Muhammad Mokaev’s contract, despite his recent victory and unbeaten record. This decision comes after Mokaev’s unanimous decision win over Manel Kape at UFC 304 in Manchester.
“He’s not under contract anymore,” White stated at the post-fight press conference. “I think the PFL is going to get a great, undefeated guy. Good luck to him”.
Issues Beyond the Octagon
White elaborated that the decision was not solely based on Mokaev’s performance in the octagon.
“The matchmakers aren’t big fans of his for many different reasons, and not just because of his fighting style,” White explained. “There are a lot of guys that fight with that type of style, but it’s a lot more than just that”.
