Corey Anderson calls out Johnny Walker for bout at MSG
In the race to get to UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, it seems that two fighters are willing to duke it out to get to the top. Top ranked Corey Anderson has now issued a challenge to red hot knockout artist Johnny Walker. The call out came via Twitter, and Anderson suggested UFC 244, scheduled for November second at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Wanted to dethrone the "King", they want me to derail a train, #JohnnyWalker thinks he's ready for the big leagues, time to roll out the red carpet. You want the sauce?! Meet me in the land of opportunity, NYC, MSG, Nov 2nd. #ufc #msg @AliAbdelaziz00 @danawhite @Mickmaynard2

Walker responded positively, and seems to be up for the task.

Anderson is coming off of one of the best streaks of his UFC career, with three straight wins. After two KO losses in 2017, Anderson rebounded with a unanimous decision victory over Patrick Cummins. He then lined up two additional decision wins over Glover Teixeira and Ilir Latifi.
No light heavyweight has had a more explosive rise than Walker. He made his debut with a brutal, first round KO win over Khalil Rountree Jr. He then followed up with a spectacular knockout over Justin Ledet, and then an equally impressive KO over Misha Cirkunov – both early in the first round.
