Conor McGregor’s MASSIVE paycheck REVEALED ahead of comeback!

Record-breaking amount: Biggest payout ever!

It comes as no surprise that Conor McGregor will earn a substantial paycheck ahead of his UFC return, but few were expecting the amounts that have been disclosed.

Next weekend’s UFC 246 will see McGregor return against fan favourite Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone in the main event. It’s a welcome return, as McGregor has been away from the UFC for over a year. The Irishman has transcended the sport over the years, reaching mainstream success and recognition. That has, however, also brought more attention to his multiple controversies outside the cage.

McGregor to earn 5 million dollars at UFC 246

Now, Republic TV  have revealed McGregor’s reported paycheck for UFC 246. According to these reports, the Irish superstar will earn a staggering five million dollars for his UFC return. If these numbers are accurate, this is the largest flat paycheck for any UFC fighter ever, and more than twice that of the other half of the main event. In additional reports, Cerrone is set to earn two million dollars for the bout with McGregor.

Previously the largest UFC paycheck, also held but McGregor, was three million dollars flat. This was in conjunction with his UFC 229 title bout with arch rival Khabib Nurmagomedov. These amounts, though, are nothing compared to what he earned in his 2017 boxing bout with Floyd Mayweather Jr. For that fight, McGregor made 30 million dollars, showing a huge difference in payouts between MMA and other sports.

McGregor hasn’t competed in the UFC since september 2018 at the above mentioned UFC 229. There he lost the lightweight title bout to Nurmagomedov via fourth round submission. Cerrone is also in need of a win, as he’s lost his past two bouts via T/KO. Admittedly, those losses were also to lightweight elite fighters Justin Gaethje and title contender Tony Ferguson.

Is the salary discrepancy between McGregor and Cerrone fair?
