Conor McGregor shows off impressive physique ahead of UFC return
Say what one will about his antics outside of the cage and gym, Conor McGregor is looking fit ahead of UFC 246 – his return to MMA. With the shape he appears to be in at the moment, McGregor definitely seems to be taking this fight seriously.
In a post earlier this month on Instagram, following wrestling training, McGregor posted a picture showing off the shape he is in already. While it is an older picture, it’s telling of the training he’s been going through leading up to his return to the UFC.
“Solid work at @sbgnaas tonight with our head of wrestling @sergey_pikulskiy,” McGregor wrote. “This man has changed Irish wrestling forever already, yet in reality he is just at the beginning of where he is going with this. These kids coming up through him, with big aspirations to compete in pure wrestling, are astounding! Leading the charge is his own young son @albertpikulskiy. Ireland has not had this before and to see it form and take shape in the flesh is quite something. What a unit!”

McGregor will face fan favourite Donald “Cowboy Cerrone at UFC 246, taking place January 18th in Las Vegas. It will be McGregor’s first combat sports bout since a submission loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 in October of 2018.
The loss to Nurmagomedov was McGregor’s first fight in the UFC in almost two years, after that he knocked out Eddie Alvarez to win the lightweight title. He then went on to face Floyd Mayweather in one of the biggest boxing matches in the sports history.
