Conor Mcgregor Loses Position in the Forbes Ranking – Not Far From Jake Paul!
Conor McGregor is no longer at the top of Forbes’ list of the highest paid athletes in the world.
Last year, McGregor managed to make history by earning the first place in Forbes’ ranking of the most successful athletes of the year. “The Notorious” earned 180 million dollars, and most of that earnings came from outside the octagon activities.
According to Forbes list, McGregor earned only 33 of his $180 million from his UFC appearances, while the rest came from sponsorships and the sale of his stake in whiskey brand Proper No. Twelve.
No other MMA fighter has managed to reach first place before and this year McGregor is the only one to enter the Forbes top 50 with his estimated $43 million earnings between May 1, 2021 and May 1, 2022. McGregor lands in 35th place, which of course is not something to be upset about. With his big fortune, “The Notorious” has, among other things, bought a sports yacht which he officially became the owner of a few weeks back!
If you combine the income for all athletes in the top 50, the sum will be almost three billion dollars, a record figure that beats the previous record by as much as 8%.
The majority of the list consists of basketball and football players, and only three other martial artists earned a place in the rankings. Canelo Alvarez in eighth place, Tyson Fury in 18th place and Jake Paul in 46th place.
Celebrity boxer Jake pulled in $38 million during that period in question, which is not very far from McGregor’s estimated figure for the same period!
On social media, however, the Irish superstar has hinted at a fight, and with another appearance in the octagon, McGregor may move up in the rankings again.
