Conor McGregor wants to buy Liverpool FC: "I WOULD LOVE IT!"

UFC legend and big time Manchester United fan Conor McGregor expressed interest in buying Liverpool Football Club. Fenway Sports Group, the owners of Liverpool since 2010, are inviting offers. McGregor confirmed his interest by responding to a fan on Twitter.

“I WOULD LOVE IT! I requested my information on this, yes. Soon as I heard. What a turn of events! What a club!

McGregor has been a public supporter of Manchester United, but he expressed his interest several times recently in buying or investing in other football clubs. Earlier this year he expressed interest in buying Chelsea and also considered investing in Celtic.

Although McGregor was listed as one of the richest men in the world, many are wondering whether he has enough to buy the football club which will surely be sold for billions. TalkSPORT’s Simon Jordan believes that Liverpool could be sold for as much as £5 billion.

In 2021, McGregor was at the top of Forbes’ list for highest-paid athletes, beating the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi. McGregor recently increased his fortune by selling his stake in the whiskey brand Proper 12 for $150 million and $22 million for his sports endeavors. He continues to bring in money from sponsorships and has recently broken into the entertainment industry, appearing in an upcoming movie with Jake Gyllenhaal.

Despite a shocking injury in 2021 which sidelined McGregor ever since, he managed to walk away with $44 million for the year. He did see his 2022 Forbes ranking fall to 35th, but his return to the Octagon in 2023 will surely bring his Forbes ranking back up.

While McGregor earns big money, he also continues to spend big as well. He recently showed off his multi-million-dollar collection of luxury watches as well as a purchase of a new Lamborghini superyacht. If McGregor is serious about buying Liverpool FC, he will need serious financial backing!
