Conor McGregor hints at new opponent in impressive training video
After showing off some impressive boxing skills, UFC superstar Conor McGregor may have hinted at who his next opponent will be.
The stars of MMA and the UFC are all mostly under lockdown at the moment. Fighters are all spending this time differently, however Irish UFC star Conor McGregor has kept active, in terms of training, reaching out to fans, and even his nation. As the UFC’s biggest star, many fans are clamouring for information on his next fight – And he might just have hinted at who it might be against.
In a new training video he posted on Instagram, he can be heard saying the nick name of one of the biggest boxers in the world: Canelo Alvarez.

In 2017 McGregor faced Floyd Mayweather Jr. in what became the biggest combat sports event of all time. While McGreor put in a valiant effort, starting off strong, he was eventually TKO’d in the tenth round. His endeavour into boxing proved a profitable one for all parties involved.

The last time McGregor competed was against Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone at UFC 246 in January of this year. That event showcased McGregor’s much-anticipated return to the sport after over a year outside of the cage. The Irishman returned in spectacular form, finishing “Cowboy” in just 44 seconds. Since then McGregor has been linked to several potential match ups, including one against Justin Gaethje. However regardless of who McGregor faces in his next fight, be it MMA or boxing, the world must handle the Covid-19 pandemic.
