Conor McGregor GOES OFF on Justin Gaethje

Former UFC double champion Conor McGregor kept a close eye on this weekend’s UFC 249 where Tony Ferguson battled Justin Gaetjhe for the lightweight interim title. After the smoke had settled, “The Notorious” McGregor shared his thoughts on the division and went on an aggressive rant targeted at “The Highlight” Gaethje.

Conor McGregor made his long-awaited return to competition at UFC 246 in late January when he took out MMA veteran Donald Cerrone in 40 seconds. Ever since, it has been widely speculated who McGregor will face in his next bout.

UFC President Dana White has promised McGregor another shot at lightweight gold, but after this weekend’s events it looks like McGregor will have to wait quite some time before that opportunity materializes.

Lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov is currently celebrating Ramadan and Justin Gaethje earned his shot at the belt after an impressive performance against Tony Ferguson.

It will definitely take some time before we will see McGregor fight for the lightweight strap, but that does not hinder “The Notorious” McGregor from GOING OFF on Twitter, targeting the whole division.

Even though quite a few fighters got insults thrown at them, Gaethje was targeted the hardest. While it started off slow, it quickly escalated:

“The fans make the sport,” McGregor wrote on Twitter. “Watching the other night I was against going in without them. But it will be my fucking pleasure to display the power I possess with zero background noise for them. Its me and Justin next as khabib is the biggest bottle fighter in the game. Guarantee it.”

Conor McGregor vs Justin Gaethje?

Gaethje has certainly earned his shot at lightweight gold after four straight TKO/KO finishes. But according to McGregor, “The Highlight” Gaethje should face him instead of Khabib.

The Irishman made it clear that he has set his eyes on Gaethje, and that he is going in for the kill. Gaethje has openly criticized McGregor for his antics outside of the cafe, calling him a “shit human, father and husband”. Gaethje’s comments has not been taken lightly by “The Notorious,” to say the least:

“Justin, there is no danger in a man that hugs legs, we all know,” McGregor wrote. “Try and dance around what the real threat is here all you want. I am going to fucking butcher you. Your teeth. I’m going to put them on a fucking necklace. Speak on my skills as a father? You are fucking dead.”
